Search for information and use of new technologies

The attached document lists my strengths and weaknesses for the ability of search for information and use of new technologies for the first and second year of the degree. I also did this same procedure in the third and fourth year to see the evolution in all the skills stated bellow.

During the first years, I new were to find the information, but I had a lot to improve on, especially in the use of new technologies.

Written communication

Even though I felt confident on my written skills, I knew I had to read scientific papers in order to increase my vocabulary on the field.

Oral communication

I knew how to control my stress when communicating in front of an audience, but I still had to learn how to modulate my voice. Moreover, I had to gain confidence in petit comité.

Team work

As I have mentioned in the previous skill, I had to gain confidence and be more extrovert with my colleagues.

Projects

Problem based assessment: Controversial diets

Problem based assessment has been a subject that has given me the opportunity to apply all the techniques for improving all of my skills. In this project we did a review on controversial diets. The bibliography demonstrates that we used reliable references, but some of them could still be changed for better ones.

Ecology: Landscape study

This is a project from the ecology subject. We performed it with a group of classmates chosen by the teacher after visiting the Collserola Mountain to obtain information. The aim was to study the viability of constructing a road that connected La Foresta and Les Planes going through the Turó del Fumet.

Drug chemistry

The following video shows a presentation of the drug chemistry project. This was a group project in which we had to analyze the chemical structure of a certain molecule and explain its utility. A feedback of this presentation from three of my colleagues is available at the end of this page.

Cellular biology

This is also a group project. In this case we had to study the imperfect osteogenesis disease. I believe this is a good example of team work, as the group with which I worked was of ten classmates, which requires a lot of communication and coordination.
